Fantastic resources
Sign up to Dress up and Dance, and Macmillan will send you everything you need for a fantastic day of fundraising and fancy dress – for free! Your pack will include funky stickers, posters and even a dance DVD. We know how easy Dress up and Dance is to do. But don’t just take our word for it. One hundred per cent of schools loved the pack and said it was ‘really good’ or ‘good’. Feedback was glowing with such lovely quotes as, “Always child friendly, easy to administer and above all FUN!”
A perfect way to learn
With physical development a prime area of learning in the revised EYFS, Dress up and Dance is a perfect way to get your children excited about getting active. Your pack will include activities and an educational dance DVD full of easy-to-follow moves. Dance can support coordination and most importantly do so in a fun and engaging way. Not only that, it also gives the opportunity to explore dance styles and costumes from around the world. Participants last year said they loved “the great costume ideas” and the children really got behind the event, coming in costumes from genres as diverse as flamenco and hip-hop!
Making a difference
Every year in the UK, around 1,700 children will be diagnosed with cancer. It’s a distressing and frightening time for them
and every member of their families. Your nursery or preschool can help Macmillan reach out to even more people affected by cancer, so no one has to face cancer alone.
Did you know?
£54 could pay for a Macmillan occupational therapist to spend two hours with a child living with cancer. Macmillan occupational therapists help children with moving around and carrying out daily activities.
£191 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for a working day. Macmillan paediatric nurses help children with cancer, and their families. They provide support for the child and parents at home and in hospital, and help to keep children at home with their families as much as possible.
